ABOUT ME

photography, contemporary photographic art, Salvador Dali, the importance of art, colour therapy, visual therapy, the issue of mental illness,
No Labels #086, by Kleoniki Vanos.

A pressing need to find a form of expression, without the misunderstood external gesticulations that limit the souls expressions, propelled me into the world of photography.

With every exposure it becomes abundantly clear that originality of expression occurs on both conscious and subconscious levels, and each shutter release action insists upon giving colour and form to the intangible thought, and soul life processes.

I am drawn to subject matter that carries a certain meditative quality, and consider my images as free visceral verse written in colour and tone, quite often with no real prescribed up or down. With these images I communicate my experience that there is more than one side to every story, and one’s perspective changes depending on how you view it.

As an artist, it is of paramount importance to me to keep an open mind, to question, and to challenge myself to move beyond limitations .

The purpose behind my work is to share what I am learning with each new step, i.e. that life loves, teaches, incubates, protects, nurtures, and then sets us free to live and prosper.

Photography holds power. The act of taking a photo acts as a historical marker and a capture of time. Just as archaeologists offer hypotheses about ancient societies based on cave paintings, historians of the future will base their conjectures about us on the photography that is happening at this very moment, including yours.

As technology makes our world more interconnected, the act of creation has become a universal language and a vital conversation. Your photography, represented at the Fifth Annual Exposure Award reception is a thrilling contribution to that dialogue.

It’s been an honor to have your work included. Thank you for sharing your photography with us and with the world.

Sincerely,
William Etundi Jr. Signature
