Back from my first solo exhibition in Milan, the “Fracture” series was born. It is focused on the fact that we have all suffered fracture and that living in denial about this is not an option, because without acceptance healing cannot take place.
When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandise the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe when something’s damaged and has a history it becomes more beautiful.
In this series I am exploring the idea that fracture is one of the most beautiful aspects of the human condition. The cracks are meant to cultivate an unbreakable strength and relentlessly uncompromising soul. This essentially equips us to find our unique gift and share it with the world!
